Superbrands began life as a radio programme on BBC4 in 1993 and evolved into a book format a year later. The 1st UK edition was released in 1994. A single copy of this famous book now remains with Superbrands, housed in its office in Sydney.

However, in its now near 25-year history Superbrands has launched several titles, each honouring a different category of brand development – such as case studies of brands that have evolved on the net (ebrands) or brands driven substantially by youth power (CoolBrand Leaders). More than 15,000 brands have been honoured worldwide by Superbrands and over 1.50 million copies of its books have been printed and distributed in 91 countries across all six continents.
