In most of the cases, negative claims about masturbation is based on myths and superstitions, and has no scientific evidence to backup their accusation.
However, in minor cases, there are some partial truth surrounding masturbation, but even this kind of effect is not exactly caused by masturbation itself per se but rather by incorrect methods of masturbation (more on this later).
So, there is nothing to fear about when you want to masturbate, and you can touch yourself with no worries.

There are so much misinformation surrounding masturbation, that it is terrible for your well-being in both physical and psychological way.
Just by scouting around on the internet a few minutes, I was able to identify several rumors about negative effects of masturbating regularly.
I do not know where these urban legends stem from, but certainly it seems a wide spread phenomena even outside of internet.
Social, cultural, and religious background of many different countries which consider masturbation a bad thing, probably plays a big role in defining the false negative effects of masturbation.
From now on, I will list each myths about masturbation followed by the debunking of it from scientific and fact-based stand point.
Cause hair loss
One of the most talked about myths of masturbation is that it causes hair loss.
This sounds like a truth at first since many people know about the relationship between male hormones and hair loss.
And masturbation certainly increase the level of testosterone for a short while after ejaculation.
But in reality, it is not sufficient cause of hair loss…
So, in order to debunk the myths of masturbation being the cause of hair loss or boldness, it is necessary to understand what causes hair loss in the first place.
It is a known fact that hormone balance can be one of the causes of hair loss, especially when testosterone levels are excessively high, it is often considered as the main factors of losing hair.
However, the truth is that hormone imbalance in the system must be taken in account in longer periods of exposure.
According to MedicalNewsToday, since masturbation only causes a slight increase in testosterone levels through only a small amount of time, the prolonging effect is minimum to almost non-existent.
Therefore, it is safe to say that this slight change in hormone imbalance caused by masturbation cannot be the sufficient cause for pro-longed exposure to excessive hormone which leads to hair loss.
Cause genital shrinkage
Another myth of effects from masturbating is that it causes genital shrinkage.
This is especially a strange claim on masturbation, since it claims masturbation makes your reproductive organs smaller.
Let’s see if this claim from masturbation deniers is true or not.
The simple answer to if masturbation actually causes genital shrinkage is, NO.
Masturbation has almost nothing to do with your genital size.
In some cases, if you abstine from masturbation for a long time, it might even have the possibility of being the cause for sexual deprivation, rendering unable to maintain or become erected.
There is no clear scientific evidence which suggests genital shrinkage is caused by masturbation, and frankly speaking it is weird to even believe that negative impact.
Masturbation does not make your penis smaller, or bigger for that matter.
It simply makes you feel good and that’s it.
There are some rumors that masturbating too much will render you infertile, unable to conceive a baby anymore in the future.
If this is truly the case, it will be very scary to think about masturbating, right?
There is no scientific evidence which suggests that this is the case even remotely close to the symptoms.
In reality, masturbation can even work positively in terms of sperm health and quality when it comes to fertility.
Some data shows that optimum semen quality occurs after two to three days of no ejaculation. But other research suggests that men who have normal sperm quality maintain normal sperm motility and concentrations even with daily ejaculation.
This strongly indicates that regular masturbaters have much better fertility compared to those who do not engage in the activity regularly.
This is one of the more weirder rumor regarding masturbation.
It is hard to imagine the causation between blindness and masturbation in the first place, but maybe people who want to prohibit masturbation came up with this idea.
Let’s see how this fairs with facts.
As you can easily imagine, there is no scientifically proven evidence which suggest the relation between blindness and masturbation.
According to Fiteyes.com, there is a slight connection between sex and eye pressure which can be observed, but even the most frequent masturbaters suffered no eye related diseases for many years.
It is nonsense to think that blindness is caused by masturbation at this point, so forget about it and masturbate on.
Cause mental illness
Another myth about masturbation is that it causes people to have mental illness.
The mental illness these people claim to be caused by masturbation can be depression, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and many disorders.
This rumor might stem from the fact that people experience the “post-cum clarity” period, and they reflect on their actions after ejaculation often times.
To some degree, it is understandable to have this kind of concern regarding masturbation.
However, again, there is no scientific evidence which indicates the connection between masturbation and the onset of these mental illnesses.
As it is suggested by healthline, masturbation might have a positive effect on your self-esteem, so you really don’t have to worry about mental illness when masturbating.
It is true that some people feel guilt from masturbation, but that is caused not by the act of masturbation, but by social and cultural values towards masturbation.
You must remember that masturbation is completely a natural thing to do, and has many positive health benefits, so you should not really feel any guilt towards masturbation.
There are some rumors that masturbation causes cancer, especially prostate cancer.
The connection between prostate cancer and masturbation (or ejaculation) has long been a subject of study and there are relatively much evidence to check out.
The scientific evidence of prostate cancer and masturbation is quite clear on its position.
In short, masturbation or ejaculation does not cause prostate cancer, but rather decreases the risk for developing it.
The researchers found that guys who did it the most (at least 21 times a month) had about a 20% lower chance of prostate cancer, compared with those who did it less (4 to 7 times a month). That was true in several age groups.
This means the more you masturbate the less likely that you get prostate cancer in the future.
So, you SHOULD masturbate if you want to prevent having cancer…
The truth about masturbation
Masturbation can help prevent vaginal infections. Masturbation also reduces to risk of prostate cancer. and actually masturbation can REDUCE depression. touch yourself dawg stop believing these myths. you will not go blind or become infertile or go crazy from masturbating. 🙄
